Today I got to break out of one my favorite cold-weather wardrobe stretchers: a turtleneck. Now, I know that turtlenecks are not the most fashionable piece of clothing known to man (the white variety is a prominent feature of most ugly Christmas sweaters), but they do allow you to layer up and get some winter wear out of your warm-weather pieces.
Take this shirt for example. Thin cotton, short sleeved, open neckline. Layered with a purple turtleneck (and a jacket), it is now appropriate for a frosty morning commute.
Here are some ways that I have utilized turtlenecks in the past:
Jacket - LC Lauren Conrad, Kohl's
Blouse - J.Crew, Resale Shop
Turtleneck - J.Crew, Goodwill
Skinnies - F21, Resale Shop
Boots - Gianni Bini, Goodwill
